Solitude Poem by Gerry Freeman

Solitude

Rating: 5.0

The tired Sun in his lonely sky
Must forever strive
To brush the darkness ahead away,
Though it gathers in behind.
So must a man walk the path he chose
Till he finds his truth
And here am I, once again in my
Sublime solitude.

There is a tide in the scheme of things.
I require no proof
For here am I, once again in my
Solitude.

Through crowded streets I walk alone
Feeling nothing, nothing in common at all
And it has been this way all my life.
It would be easy to blend
But I can't bend.
No, no, I could never change.
Could not, would not,
Should not.
I'm amused by it all
Yet I cannot be small.

The quiet Moon rides among the stars
Yet remains aloof
And here am I, once again in my
Solitude.

Solitude can be the most wonderful thing - - - or the most miserable. It depends on your attitude. I like this poem. It makes you think.
