Fire And Ice

Poem by Robert Frost

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

Form: Epigram

You really have to read this poem multiple times to really appreciate the sick, cold burn it aims to deliver. It reads like an old timely diss-track. My English professor, sanjeev nanda, taught me about Robert Frost, but overlooked this gem. To be fair, I wouldn't have appreciated this as a 16-year old, as I do now.(Report)Reply
