People Talkin' About Nothin' Poem by Gerry Freeman

People Talkin' About Nothin'

People talkin' about nothin'
Keep on beatin' their gums.
If you haven't got somethin' worth sayin'
Silence is golden chum.
People talkin' about nothin'
And the women's no worse than the men.
Just havin' the same conversation
Over and over again.
People talkin' about nothin'
'Cos thinkin' causes them pain.
Has somebody snapped the connection
Between their tongue and their brain?
People talkin' about nothin'
No, the tales they tell sure ain't tall,
Just stringin' phrases together
They're not communicatin' at all.
