The Incident Of The Night Poem by Gurleen kaur Narang

The Incident Of The Night

Rating: 5.0

Laying on my couch,
Late in the night,
I am once again wondering,
Why the hell I can't sleep?

I think of my career,
Think of my friends,
Think of the beginning,
And the end!

The struggle continues for sometime,
Then I have a nice chat with my mind,
Do you know what it says me
It tells me,
'Hey, the weather out is good,
Let's go for a walk'.

But suddenly my Heart sees me active,
And sends me a message,
'Hi dear, go on and think more deep'!

Well, now I am in a fix,
Who should I listen to?
Maybe you can tell!

Now let me tell you
What happens next.
I get up from my couch,
Make some 'pasta',
Eat it And sleep!

So I guess,
When The Heart and brain fights,
Its always the stomach that wins!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
There is a large population on this planet (including me) who struggle hard to sleep at night.Maybe cause they have already slept in the afternoon! They think excessively of their life and what happens in it.Getting a sleep at night is like a luxury for them which they never in their life will be able to afford.Thinking for hours, its a natural phenomenon to feel hungry in the end.Trust me, the moment our tummy gets something at this point of time, we 'the nocturnal creatures' sleep sound!
