Nocturne (Notturno) Poem by Shane Joshua Thomas

Nocturne (Notturno)

The last drunken dance of the night-moths,
The last flickering of dawn against the crimson sky,
The final brush of clouds upon ocean eyes,
The hushed breath of silence before it all collapses.

Behold the stars above withering away for all eternity!
Against that palette of ineffable black,
Amidst the stillness of peace infinite,
In perpetuity.
