Anhedonia

Build me a palace

2.

I catch the Sun in your eyes glisten
brown back at me, your hazel hair
so close but never touching
at night as you fall asleep by the sofa
...

The last drunken dance of the night-moths,
The last flickering of dawn against the crimson sky,
The final brush of clouds upon ocean eyes,
The hushed breath of silence before it all collapses.
...

I am bleeding out onto the
canvas of forlorn creation,
I have met the pulsing phases of
motion and anguish;
...

It is all in your mind;
Less reality, more mind.

Maybe you're not all there...

[Precor]:

When you created us, it was for the purpose of love,
To be made lovers of our own souls;
...

There shall be no black funeral for me,
No marker over my grave,
Where my dead bones stand, a great tree shall rise,
And cast cool shadows for those that dwell in darkness;
...

Life is but a spiral staircase
One goes down and down and down

Build me a palace
O Anhedonia,
For my thoughts to rot,
For my pleasure to sink,
My arms to collapse
To the hiraeth of a sequestered time,
A place where I can be content
With the inevitable state of things.

For my thoughts to sink,
For my pleasure to rot.

Shane Joshua Thomas Quotes

'All music is in the name of God. Except that which is explicitly otherwise.'

'I don't think I could ever put hatred into music, because you shouldn't put hatred into music - music's too good for that.'

'Music's the only thing that could do anything to me and I'd still love it.' [implying that humans are not subject to the same unconditional love]

'I want to forgive my mother - not because I think she's innocent, but because I want to make peace with people.'

'I don't know what her [his mother's] face looks anymore, and I don't want to anymore. I'm quite glad that I can't recall it. I just remember it looked vaguely like my sister Chanelle.'

David: What's it like having Shane as a brother? Chanelle: Annoying, cause he's the worst brother I've ever had. David: Why's that? Chanelle: He ignores me, he doesn't even look at me. David: Why do you think he does that? Chanelle: ... I know why. He says it's because I look like my mum. And that's what he says. But I haven't done anything wrong, so why me?

Tom: 'I'm going to paint two pictures of success, and I would like you to tell me which you prefer. Shane: Mmm-hmm. Tom: Limousines... Shane: The second option. Tom: That's a good answer. What was the second option? What was I going to say? Shane: I don't know, but it's not limousines. Tom: You never know, there could have been helicopters!

'I don't really see the point in a relationship if you can get on without one. I only have to look to my immediate family. It led to me being born, mistreated and abandoned, so...' [Opinion at the time (in 2017) . It has since changed]
