Kin Poem by Marcy Kidder

Kin

Rating: 4.0

They are formed from nothing into a beautiful seed, that's planted within you, forever it seems.

You would die for them, fight and bleed. They are your creation their characteristics from what you teach.

Most grow old, some only last a day. But the memories they give us, are the richest form of pay.

You see yourself in them, you live on through their life. Soon they'll met a love and have a husband or wife.

You teach them lessons the good and the bad, the ones you've had to learn along the way, happy or sad.

Thru them you live on, the greatest gift, they don't have to be your blood to shape that internal shift.
