Cut Those Ties Poem by Marcy Kidder

Cut Those Ties

Rating: 5.0

When you love it creates a tie, a string connected deep inside.

This string reaches out and connects you to another. No one else has it, not even your sister or brother.

The more you love, the more strings you hold. The warmth goes away, as your heart turns cold.

When one fails you must let go, cut the strings that consume your soul.

Your meant to love one and be able to give your all, some create stone barriers, gates and walls.

But if you can't let go, you should not move forward. When you do, you will be creating your own torture.

For your heart will be broken into pieces. Your love will run shallow as your pain increases.

Let it go, heal, and pray. Learn to trust and love yourself, before you love someone else, one more day.

An insightful poem well expressed. Liked the closure lines. A great message.
