Would, Could, Should Poem by Maria Barcan

Would, Could, Should

Rating: 5.0

If the skies turn fair
And my mind's no longer pent
Would I still pick up your scent
In the summer air?
If the leaves turn green
And my cheeks no longer blush
Would your sight still be a rush
Stronger than caffeine?
If the train tracks chime
And my heart's no longer braced
Would I still recall your taste
After all this time?
If the seas turn blue
And my fears no longer scream
Would your arms' embrace still seem
Frightening and new?
If I board some train
And go looking for a sign
Would your soul still ache for mine
When we meet again?
If the answer's no
Would the world become bereft?
Maybe questions should be left
Frozen in the snow.
