The Wrong Turn Poem by Genese Lozada

The Wrong Turn

I hate to see myself get hurt.
I hate to find myself like this.
I want to be somewhere else
Somewhere away from here
Where I won’t be able to break it
Break it once more
The irony
The truth
The lies
The hopes
The failure
Unrecognized
Unnoticed
Behind the tinted glass
I couldn’t help myself to be in the same spot again
Struggling
Beginning
Hurting
If there were just armours
Armours to keep me away from every pain
From every breaking
The death is silent
Yet deadly and painful
How do one get away from it
See no matter how I try to run, I end up
End up somewhere round the corner in the same position
Same position where I used to stand before
If I could have
Have just stopped myself
Then the breaking
The breaking
Wouldn’t have
Wouldn’t have happened
Blood won’t be here
If I just
Just didn’t pick up the stone
The stone to hit my own
My own head
