Through Tides Poem by Genese Lozada

Through Tides

I was to numb to feel it
Too scared to face it
Too innocent to know about it

I was too much of a dreamer
I thought it was true
But I just fancied it

'Cause I am not liked
I am not multi-talented
I always made a heartache

But through and through
There was somebody who liked me
Somebody who believed in me

Somebody who was there
When I tried to step backward
Who was as still as waters
Even though my heart was almost dying

He was there,
Holding me tight
Even though the blades of pain
Were almost touching Him

He never weakened my spirit nor ignored me
He never pressured me
He just let me walk

He was never dispirited
Even though He knew my failures
He is God worthy of honor and praise
