Palak In A Thousand Hearts Poem by Shareq Rahman

Palak In A Thousand Hearts

You come into my soul
when I take a deep breath.
In the back alleys of your heart
I take my daily walks.

You move like a wild zephyr
and blow me like a cloud of dust.
Who will ever love you so
as I do to you.

The wandering flit of my eyes
comes to a stop on your face.
What else is left to be said,
the message has been given.
My sight has met your sight
yet you dont know about it.

Now that I have met you
my dreams are more exciting.
I cannot get a hold on life
and of my flying moments.

My smiles are for you
and my hapiness is for you.
You dont know the immensity.

The day I dont see you
I walk around like a zombie.
Who will ever love you so
as I do to you.

A thousand congenital defect hearts
are beating forever for you.
You gave your sweat and
your sweet nightingale voice.

That our hearts beat and
that we have a smile.
Is a gift from the gods
that they gave through you.

You pray for us paediatrices
and we pray for you.
The gods make your voice ever sweeter
and thousands more hearts will beat,
for you.
