On The Road Poem by John F. English

On The Road

Rating: 4.3

I travel on towards the unknown
Passing faint scenes of green and blue
I have taken life on a loan
and I still have much to do

Buses, trains, and ferries guide me
into new lands and unknown thoughts
and I find there is much to see
Past cold buildings and empty lots

Voices in German, French, and English
Surround me on any new day
Feeling them is my only wish
Though I never know what they say

The world is open to us all
Entrance free but guarantee
That you will not wither and fall
Before you find life's hidden key

Searching, searching I travel on
Not knowing where the road will lead
But confident that life is no con
And I will find a worthy deed

I'm biased because I have a soft spot for rhymes but this poem is like a fresh breath of optimism so keep writing and keep sharing :)
