Writing times of woe and war
Or when hardy explorers
were mapping the earth pole to pole

I had some time to myself
so I went to the beach
seemed like a good idea at first
after all the sun was shining

I travel on towards the unknown
Passing faint scenes of green and blue
I have taken life on a loan
and I still have much to do
...

I have wondered long in this world
Seen great cities in east and west
And although I've seen Paris and Rome
The spires of Istanbul and Tehran
...

I'm in my room
late at night
listening to Satie
and smoking
...

There are many travelers on the road
Moving with a very heavy load
Some literal and some abstract
It's all really just a foolish act
...

Time rolls on
Endless, unstoppable
Time rolls on
How old are these rocks?
