My Inspirations Poem by Mwihaki Kahiga

My Inspirations

My inspirations are a rare find,
They come at the most unexpected moments,
At odd hours especially like now when i am just about to go to bed,
Its a sum up of reflections, that brings realizations,
The realizations that brings conclusions,
Conclusions that help me make a move to the next possibility.

I have in life hit those low moments,
Moments when no amount of tears can cleanse,
Moments when no amount of light can brighten,
Moments when darkness is the only thing i could touch,
Moments when am in a vacum,
Moments of deflation and regrets,
But somehow in those odd moments i find the inspiration,
To press on, to hang on and stand again.

My inspirations are a rare find,
They are a treasure i hunt for,
But one that finds me rather than me finding it,
Its like a soap that cleanses me off negativity,
A towel that wipes of the drippy self pity,
A shoe that protects my inner feet from being hurt,
The clothing that covers my shame,
The hat that shields me from sunburns,
The jewels that makes me glow,
The make up that covers the flaky old skin.

Oh my inspirations, my inspirations,
The wings that help me fly,
The shoulder that i lean on,
The back that carries me when i cant walk,
The faith that keeps me hoping,
The hope that keeps moving,
The movements that keeps me warm,
That i may not freeze in negativity,
But smile at all times...
Like the inspired being i am.
