Mwihaki Kahiga Poems

And walk i walked
Swinging right and left as usual,
In the seriousness of the moments,
As the scorching sun hit my face,
...

It could have four corners,8 corners, no corners, large or small but not matter how beautiful it is from inside,
Anyone looking at it from outside will realize its a cage.
It could have beautiful, comfortable living areas within it,
It could have flowing waters within it,
...

There was a time i longed for night fall,
Longed for the darkness,
The solitude that comes with it,
I longed passionately for the day to end,
...

I light a candle and my heart jolts into a halt,
Memories of your deep look through my eyes too fresh,
Your tight grip around me so warm,
Your presence fills the room,
...

The voice lacks sound,
The sounds lacks rhythm,
The start just happened,
But the end happened before the start,
...

I keep singing,
As i walk,
As i sit,
As i sleep,
...

Its not what i have lost that i think about,
Its about the things i have gained,
The people i have loved, who loved me back when they could,
Its the moments of pleasure, the beauty of silence,
...

I am walking down the street, taking a random shot of the sunset,
A guinea fowl runs across the road and as i look at its beautiful colours i am tempted to run after it,
As if reading my mind it runs faster into the thickets and i stand there staring at nothing at all.
...

The picture in my mind,
The picture in my soul,
The picture i talk,
The picture i hear,
...

There are some things in life that no experience can prepare you for,
Some things that age does not make any easier,
Some things that no amount of knowledge can save you from,
Some things that teach you to let God be the master,
...

Life has to go on,
Despite the bad chapters,
Despite the bad people we meet,
Despite the people we love letting us down,
...

Feeling trapped in a little village,
Like a bird whose wings have been glued,
And i would give anything,
For the freedom i so desire,
...

Is there a place called no place,
Where no one knows anyone,
Where no one judges another,
Where anything means anything,
...

I am singing a song i cant hear,
I have been trying to shake it off but i cant,
I see the lyrics scroll down but i cant read them,
I can imagine the instrumentals,
...

There were episodes in my past,
when life was like an empty painting,
where everyone else could see the picture apart from me.
Every time i looked at the beautiful frame,
...

Everything has a beginning and an end
Everyone was born and one day they will die,
Everyday we have a sunrise and a sunset.
Dawn and dusk to put it easy,
...

Dull and misty,
Poor visibility all around,
There are no walls to hold on to,
The path feels rough and slippery,
...

Drowning on air,
Chocking on water,
Scorching in the rain,
Drenched in sunshine.
...

My inspirations are a rare find,
They come at the most unexpected moments,
At odd hours especially like now when i am just about to go to bed,
Its a sum up of reflections, that brings realizations,
...

I write to tell many that they are not alone,
They are not alone in the space of anger and revenge hanging around them,
They are not alone in those moments of tears and sadness,
They are not alone in the muddle of confusion and indecisiveness,
...

The Best Poem Of Mwihaki Kahiga

Difficult Roads-Beautiful Destinations

And walk i walked
Swinging right and left as usual,
In the seriousness of the moments,
As the scorching sun hit my face,
And the view on the horizon too bright to take on,
Sunglasses check,
Flat shoes check,
And i walked on like i own a piece of the earth i step on.
You may never understand this,
But i am important,
I am owned by the owner of all,
And in the strength of my stride,
I walk as the queen i am,
Knowing am the best there is of me,
I own and i win,
I am safe and sound,
I am sheltered by them crowds,
The horizon is not the end,
And my life is awesome.
And on i walk,
Oblivious of the obstacles,
Free of pain and destruction,
A smile here and there,
A sparkle every few minutes,
Am a walking miracle,
Beautiful and unique,
Fulfilled and loved..
And on i share my pride,
In Him who owns it all,
He who makes me whole.
Sometimes my toes hit a stone,
I have lost my balance severally,
The sun has been too hot at times and i faint,
Sometimes am crying and struggling,
And this is when it rains,
Washing away my bad moments,
Refreshing me for a new start,
And on i walk and walk on,
Till i reach my destiny.
