My Fate With A Star Poem by Reva Kern

My Fate With A Star

Rating: 5.0

A star above my head
A reflection in my eyes
Small and lonely
That occasional starlight
Passing through the vast universe
As layer upon layer of dark clouds drift away
This moment
Connects with my gaze

Its star light
Grows weaker
When I gaze at it
It is so far away from me
And yet it is near
How many light years away?
And I am unsatisfied
One hundred years in an instant -
Sighing with its audacious persistence
I close my eyes
Tonight I will silently
Embrace it in my dreams
