My Soul Poem by Reva Kern

My Soul

Rating: 5.0

My soul has the naïvety of a glittering entity
Of a snow in February
Ah!We return to the threshold of childhood
On a pathway toward prayer

My dear, join your hands cry, dream and pray
Like you did in days gone by
When in my bedroom at night
Raised your voice to the flowered Virgin

Ah, the fatality being a naïve soul in this lying world
Faded, blasé, perverse
To have a soul like snow in winter
That never sullied sordid sensual pleasure

To have a soul like muslin
That habit of a sister novice of the convent
Or like a lute filled with music of the wind
That sings and trembles in the evening on the hill

To have a sweet soul, mystically soft
However, you always suffer from your troubles
Regretting to live, frightened to die
Hoping, believing and always waiting
