Moonless Night Poem by Jayne Doe

Moonless Night

No moon tonight
There is no light
Darker shades
Both inside and out

Cool breezes
Swipe my soul
Leaving less
Than I had before

Nobody's around
To talk me down
From this precipice
Of fractured cries

Back turned
Free floating fall
There is no ground
To land upon

Opened eyes
Soaring by
Blurred sights
Of cluttered minds

There is no up
There is no down
Spinning, spinning
All around

Slight tugs
Pull me back
My soul escapes
From flooded eyes

In pieces it falls
As I grow small
I've lost enough
To say that I'm gone.
