Love Lied To Me Poem by Gerry Freeman

Love Lied To Me

How many times have I wondered
What made me act so foolishly?
How many times have I tried to find a reason
For mistreating you, like I used to do?
I wish I could explain
And hold you again
But that can never be,
Love lied to me.

I used to think life was simple
And love was just a fantasy.
I used to think I could always find another
Very easily, I acted carelessly.
I wish I could explain
And hold you again
But that can never be,
Love lied to me.

Love lied to me,
I have been deceived.
I acted carelessly.
Love lied to me.

Only the wise can be lucky.
Lucky we are when we are wise.
Only the wise can know all about their feelings.
If you only knew what I'm going through.
I wish I could explain
And hold you again
But that can never be,
Love lied to me.
I acted carelessly.
Love lied to me.
To my surprise I see
Love lied to me.
