Jess: A Dream Poem by Laurence Read

Jess: A Dream

Autumn walks on crispy morn

Wrapped against the chilly breeze

Breath that shows a vapoured stream

Two together keeping warm

As the air turns to rain

Pacing quicker to get back home

Fun and laughter fills the air

Love and kisses sweet refrain

Winter walks on hardened ground

Footprints left in the snow

Arm in arm, to saunter out

A morn for loving I have found

Over hills we trudge our way

Throwing snowballs, soft laughter peels

Wind that stings the eyes so bright

Glorious way to while the day

Spring arrives upon the green

Light breezes and carefree jaunts

We stroll without a care

Lambs jumping across the meadow keen

We walk and talk about life's things

Quiet thoughts are echoed forth

A lovely way to spend the day

To see what joy love brings

Summer walks along the beach

Sand, hot beneath our feet

Blue sea rolling in, wave upon wave

Life's beauty within our reach

A walk anywhere with you it seems

Is one of life's great treats

Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer

We'll keep them for us....in our dreams!
