Dreams Poem by Laurence Read

Dreams

As the sun soars high above
We sat upon a grassy bank, the river
flowing gently by, nearby swans are gently gliding, what to scene to be in love,

I can hear your heart,
gently sounding out life's beat
Your hair, of fragrant essence
from you I cannot part

I love your eyes, as bright as jewels
your face, the glow of burnished gold
your lips, moist and glossy
I could not bear, you to lose.

Up above us in the sky
flying high the birds do tweet
not a care do we have this day
I love you angel....I cannot lie

As the sun begins to fade
along the river we stroll
hand in hand, embracing this sight,
non such a glorious scene is made.

A kiss, from your loving lips I'd steal
.....my heart skips lightly,
to keep this moment for all time.
Loving you is easy and I love the feel.

A date with an Angel I've had
and in this moment...I could not
love you anymore than this
A feeling you give me.....and I'm glad...
