It's Happening Again Poem by C. K. Young

It's Happening Again

It's happening again
I can see it from a mile away
It's happening again
Seems I've lost my way
It hurts when I see you
And every time I do
I hear a small crack
As my heart breaks in two
One sided love
It's a painful thing
The saddest part is
I've become dependant, I cling
I know you're just as broken
Just as broken as me
But that's shouldn't be a basis for love
I know it shouldn't be
But when I look into your eyes
I see pain I see sadness
I see bottled up emotions
Holding on to these is madness
But most of all
When I look into your eyes
I see myself
Full of anxiety, full of goodbyes
Why do I love you?
When it hurts so much
Yet I long for your company
I long for your touch
Have I gone insane?
Surely I'm insane
To be in love with you
When you cause so much pain
Once when I asked you
If we would would ever work out
You said with a sigh
That you had much doubt
You said you were a woman a faith
And I a heathen
Is that that separates us?
No real rhyme or reason?
Well it's happened again
I saw it from a while away
It's happened again
I'm alone and gray
