I Wish I Could Hold You Poem by C. K. Young

I Wish I Could Hold You

I wish I could just hold you
Hold you in my arms
Because I love your beauty
I love your charm
But I know it wouldn't work
Not you and me
Vast oceans keep us apart
Keep me feeling lonely
Rarely can I visit
And even when I do
You put up all these walls
You let no one through
Even in your presence
I still feel alone
A cold shoulder, a cold embrace
Because I had hurt you and can't atone
Even when we text
From hundreds of miles away
I say everything in my power
Just to see you gay
I don't know if we're still friends
I can't make up for my sins
You don't see the pain in my eyes
Because I've been keeping it in
I wish I could just hold you
Lovingly in my arms
Because your beauty is intoxicating
And so is your charm
