Into The Dark Poem by jason medina

Into The Dark

As I find my way into the dark.
The shadows find their way into my heart.
A free fall into nothing
then something sparks my mind.
I have been here before
this is not the first time.

I follow my heart into the dark
and it whispers, "Never again will we part."
I bet you never knew
that the dark gets lonley too.

Have I really ever known another world?
Have I ever truly held anything besides this black pearl?

I come alive inside as the light subsides.
Into the dark I let my deepest cry.
It has known my tears
and it listens, and pulls me near.

Call it a oneness if you will.
In the dark I find my will.
A peace only I will have ever known.
Into the dark.
Into my own.
