Finding You Poem by The Writer Way

Finding You

I found you in a place I never thought I would... A place where I resigned
The thoughts of finding anybody who was ever worth my time
I found you when I lost myself to shallow deeps and rubble climbs
And... garbage heaps, and... troubled minds that didn't understand that I
Was meant for more, for something bigger, but it's hard not to see that you
Grasped that, way, from the beginning and fully believe it's true
I truly believe you do, as if it's owed, and though it's not
That never seems to dim your proof to show me I was worth your shot
I almost gave on love... I almost passed on finding "us"
But I can take what I give out, so, since I gave, I'll take on love
I'll take your healing and your trust. I'll take the things that I rushed through
And I'm I sorry didn't notice I was the person for you
I'm thankful for your patience and the things you helped me through
My past tried to mess us up but you came through with cleaning tools
I'll forever glean from the fruitage you came, planted, and grew
Inside of me, me.
This one's dedicated to you.
