I close my eyes
and that is when I see
a beautiful life
where you love me.

I long for a loving caress,
your hand upon my cheek.
Not just a kiss or embrace
where pleasure is all you seek.

My soul yearns for you
not just your body.
I want your heart
but you are ungiving and haughty.

You excuse your actions
by saying 'no commitment'.
You safegaurd your freedom
claiming you are not ready or worthy.

By speaking the truth
you do me a justice.
Yet it is the respect I deserve
that you cannot muster.

I open my eyes
and that is when I see
this self destructive path
that you are on with me.
