Christmas Time Poem by Hannah Davies

Christmas Time

It's christmas time
An excuse to eat junk and drink loads of wine.
Hanging decorations on the tree
Make it pretty for all to see.

Presents wrapped up under the tree
I wonder what is there for me?
The pulling of crackers
And frantic shredding of wrappers.

Listening to christmas songs
Everyone singing merrily along.
Sitting round the roaring fire
The heart is full of love and desire.

The children are all excited
Once Santa had been, they're delighted.
He only comes once a year
Being towed by his faithful reindeer.

Christmas is time for mince pies
And fill the air with joyful cries.
Families coming together
Sometimes you wish it could last forever.

It only lasts for one day
But the memories inside will stay.
It's the end of another year
365 days to go and again christmas will be here.
