Broken World Poem by Mwihaki Kahiga

Broken World

Rating: 5.0

A lot of people in the world are broken,
We live in a broken world anyway where breastfeeding in public is criticized but nudity is appreciated.
A world where priorities are upside down, a world where doing anything unthinkable will not be questioned if you are rich but a poor man cannot sneeze in public without insensitive people glaring with judgement.

We live in a world where places of worship lack love and the family setup they are meant to be and have been turned into dens of tearing each other into pieces. And hence when a person makes a mistake the world in its condeming nature will condemn you to the cross just like they did at calvary.

Living broken and in shame because we are outcasts in our own homes, our own land and its no wonder despite people leaving their houses clean and looking sharp they are broken and dying inside.

The easy way out is to turn to alcohol, depression and eventually suicide. Its an even deeper concern when we realize the younger generation is the main culprit. The community around does not help matters as they whisper lies and gossip unimaginable. Being broken is not the end, there is life on the other side of the valley of brokenness.

I once heard a story of a girl who had a doll that she loved so much but one day as daddy was driving out of the compound he drove over it and the doll broke into little pieces. The father offered to buy her daughter a new doll but she kept insisting she wanted her old doll. He begged her and showed her brand new ones online that looked exactly like her broken doll but she insisted she wanted her old doll.

The father with a heavy heart took the broken doll and put it back together with super glue. When he was done there was no resemblance to the old doll. The glue works was showing and it was not smooth and nice anymore. When he handed the doll to her daughter, he again insisted on getting her a new doll.

His daughter however embraced the doll with love, appreciated her dad for the mending job. She looked up to him with her beautiful eyes and whispered this to his ear. ' Just because she is broken it doesnt mean i cant love her'

I have a message of hope for you today, and that is ' just because you are broken it does not mean God has stopped loving you, he loves you just the way you are'

Dont waste time wallowing in self pity, He can mend you and embrace you back into his folk no matter how unworthy you feel.
