Accidental Departure Poem by Simbarashe Raymond Mudukuti

Accidental Departure

Im at this rock concert
Electrified atmosphere
So is the mood
I can barely feel my legs
The sound is closing in my spine
Way past ears through my eardrums
Crush, crush, crush, crush and crush
The viral chant spreads
As the rockstar signals his crushing intentions
I pass out
Total blackout
An African village at night
Only to wake up in well-conditioned bed linen
Pill smelling
In a crimson green backless whatever you call it
Hospital dressing
Get well soon placard by the bed side
And fruits like im herbivorous
