Arrogantly Important Poem by Simbarashe Raymond Mudukuti

Arrogantly Important

Fair's fair
Not coming off as all cultural justly
We all face the same influenza
Will make it plain and gullible
Dear Tom, Dick and Harry
Fact stand
Not important
Down the drain
Very important
Up the ladder of trying to have a connection
Been drinking and eating from this shack in my local river banks
Mukuvisi they call it
Every morning these 3 skunks are my sunrise alarms
They wake me up with their quarrels about the obvious last night
Everyday it's the same story
If it's not him, then it's him
If not him then definitely both of them
The pacified one is never entangled
Back to my theme
To them I'm the rich beggared
Not matter the situation,
Im always without doubt richer than them
Do you think they would visit if I was not of importance?
Or I would be the aloneness shack river bank resident
Importance counts
