Window Poem by Soran M. H

To liberate yourself
from nightmares passed
you pulled the curtain of the window
which looks out on another world-
you know you could not open it!
Your eyes become two tired pigeons
that not had flown in freedom;
the storm had broken their wings,
You closed the window curtain again...
waiting for a breeze to ripple
your lonely pool,
You folded
like a candle
burning for itself.

I totally agree with Leeann Azzopardi's well said and heart-felt comments. When we feel imprisoned by our own sometimes foolish and selfish thoughts shall we embrace a warm freedom in the poetry of our own hearts and that of others. Thank you Soran for this great poem. 10++ and added to my treasure chest.

Thanks Rose for such amazing comments and idea; but as you know the space always expanding, always there are some points remaining closed to us we can't reach them, even if we are free and in an open air, , but you are right there are many people in the 21st century struggling for the basic freedom

Despite of our determination and persistence and struggles we are doomed to be in caged leading to nothingness. A thought provoking poem so brilliantly penned. Superb imagery as always. I concur with the wonderful comments of Sir Anniruddha. Beautiful closure lines. To my Poem List.

I like the title of this poem. So appropriate for the theme freedom. Sometimes fate does not allow us to extricate ourselves from unfortunate circumstances that pin us to where we at and never attain our freesom.

Another excellent write on life. Every fiber of this marvelous poem speaks of the desire for freedom yet to no avail. So poignant and deeply moving.
