Why can't you just give us a try

I saw you the other day &
butterflies flew all through me
I didn't believe you could do that to me
I really wanna tell you how much I but every time
I try my heart says beware...
of the pain and hurt it would cause,
if you put me down and break my heart
and I keep askin' -
