Why Did I Ring Your Bell Poem by keith brown

Why Did I Ring Your Bell

Why did I ring your bell

Hot shot on a Tarmac black December night
A stride away from the rest of your life
Love falls beneath a sullen foot
Gravel crunch and porch house light

Why did You ring her bell that night

Rang her bell and changed a life
Made a girl become a wife
Made a lover made a mother

Why did I ring your bell that night

Hot shot, love lost black December night
walk away from the rest of your life
Gravel crunch and porch house light
A mother calls my name to night

Why did I ring your bell

Called your name not once not twice
A third that cannot be denied
Gravel crunch porch house light
You'll own all her tears to night
