"When I Left That River"Original: Gayatri Phukantranslated By Rupa Phukan Saikia

Rating: 5.0

A vermilion evening
I came back
from that river side..
When I came back,
I repeated that song
the brahmani ducks
were singing and dancing
whole day
And I carried the fragrance of yellowish
flowers of mustard seeds

I thought then..
what a faithful the river is
All secret grieves
can be cleaned indefatigable
in that river......
