Welcome To The Human Race Poem by Al J. Cuesta

Welcome To The Human Race

Hey you with the pretty face,
Welcome to the human race.
The sun is shining,
The sky is blue,
Mr. Pleasure is here and so are you,
Please pay no attention to Mr. Pain,
For here on earth he works in vain.
Be wary,

Always tread carefully,
After you fall,
And you will fall,
Stand-up.
Do not give up.
For once you defy gravity
Then the sky's the limit, no time for uncertainty.

Around you there will be many clues,
For instance the sun, which shines beautiful and bright, but it burns too,
So discern its beauty from a distance, make many observations
Then portray in your actions the light you see, for they will be your creations.
That way you may shine in a similar way,
That way you may become the sun in someone's life someday,
That way you may bring warmth to those you can call your family,

Now before you proceed, I must advise...
Somedays the sun will be in disguise,
And the sky will not appear to be blue,
Even through those days you must be you,
Strive to keep it simple, to keep it true,
You must know that ‘neath the clouds, ‘neath all the lies, ‘neath all the shrouds,
Lays the true color of the sky Lays the truth behind her eyes Lays the way you should behave:
True Blue.

Fondly remember Mr. Pleasure
Forget about Mr. Pain
Remember to keep shining,
Remember the colour of the sky behind the rain, Good luck here on earth pretty face,

And again, welcome to the human race.
