A Story Of Opposites Poem by Al J. Cuesta

A Story Of Opposites

Rating: 5.0

Death, the absence of Life?
Life, the unnerving sprint towards our final goal, death.

Fear, the rattle and unpleasant tickling raised from a premonition of defeat.
Confidence, when we are so sure of our goal, calm reigns our soul.

Indifference or: why should I care anymore?
Love, caring because you can and caring because it is our ultimate goal.

Chastity, devotion towards something that is not human.
Sex, embracing what we are, passion, strength, will and fun.

Immorality, breaking the rules of what is bestowed upon us.
Morality, the embrace of justice and the everlasting fight for what you feel is right.

Injustice, when lies win and we feel lost.
Justice, the power of someone painting his opinions with a brush of character on a canvas of decision.

Vengeance, when we hate the cards fate has played against us.
Grace, the ultimate form of forgiveness.

Toughness, when you are consciously acting unconscious.
Sensibility, the full awareness of emotion and truthful exposition of your livelihood.

Death, when life is so calm, it ceases to breathe.
Life, the air we take and the air we give.
