War Between Spirits And Serpent Poem by Kiran Pillai

War Between Spirits And Serpent

Very little space for errors in life today
Call it intolerance towards mistakes
Not by me, but by universe and nature
Smallest error is punished then and there.

I know the code that works here.
The notion of seven deadly sins are against me.
Gluttony, Pride, Lust, Envy, Sloth, Anger, Greed
Any one arise and I am done with.

The evils look like a seven headed serpent
Always ready to strike me down anytime
And arise the sense of ego in me;
The sense of person who has needs within me.

I am not ready to surrender to the serpent.
I have my spirits to guide me through.
The war between the serpent and spirits
Is as old as life itself. I am only participating.

I know this war between spirits and serpent.
Have been caught in crossfire all my life.
I am now taking side of the spirits today
Done with serpent sympathy for long now.
