Welcome, Generation Z! Poem by Kiran Pillai

Welcome, Generation Z!

I was the new generation
For the last decade; Millennial!
Not anymore though. We are old news
The Generation Z is already here.

I have heard the Generation X
Sing their Metal songs and Rock
They claimed no one can poke them.
Only to be digitally evolved by us!

We are now on our way out
So many things are different now.
Information and Smarts no longer pay
Even a PhD can be beat on Youtube now.

The Generation Z has ethics they say
They blend work, play and life.
It is no longer work and breaks.
Rather a nice blend of work and play

I like to be like the Generation Z.
Don't think I am made that way.
I cannot beat people on speed anymore.
Time to start ageing gracefully now.

I could have always worked on skill.
Skills no longer pay after an age
All I can call forth is wisdom I learned.
Time to go timeless, ageless to wisdom.

What remained for 1000 years.
Not some 20 years of fad and trends...
That timeless wisdom stays.
Everything else gets beaten by time.

Generations change so quickly now.
I was sad when I heard Rock was dead!
But, now I can't care less for noisy music.
Peace is what I call forth now: Peace!

Welcome to the world, Generation Z!
Hope you have a nice decade.
Learn as much as you can now.
Soon, you will also be non relevant kids!
