Unruly Farewell. Poem by Monkals Kalu

Unruly Farewell.

Unruly she lived,
Unruly she ruled,
Unruly she loved,
Unruly she partied;

But her sudden departure to eternity
Has left swollen eyes in perpetual tears.

Unruly was her smile,
Unruly was her beauty,
Unruly was her passion,
Unruly were her dreams,
Unruly was her kindness;

All these made her heart beautiful,
And stood her out among angels.

Oh, dear Juliet!
Why did you allow death
To smile home with you?
I heard you tried so hard to
Fight him with the same breath
He took from you - Your last breath.

Oh, sweet Juliet!
Your exit is sorrowful,
Your exit is premature,
Your exit is unacceptable!
I know you'll be dearly missed,
I know your soul has been prayed for;

Yet,
I pray you rest well in God's bosom,
Where angelic songs will bless your soul,
Even as I bid you this Unruly Farewell.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A dirge I managed in between tears to pen, when death stole a dear friend from me in 2020.
