Our Conscience. Poem by Monkals Kalu

Our Conscience.

Rating: 5.0

It's baffling how
Sycophancy has
Made hypocrisy look
Good in the face of truth.

The rapacious cravings
Of the corrupt mind has
Led to the cutting down of
A promising young sapling,

The fruitful future
Of this young sapling
Now exists over the dead
Bodies of these blind gits.

Queries of all sort,
Seethes my brain like
Fire heating up water in a
Kettle with rumbling sounds.

Must cow meat
Taste like fish in
The mouth of a prattler,
Just to define naiveness?

Some things may
Not be certain, but,
Truth will always be
A threat to begrudging
Ears, and Lie, a rancid taste
To the mouth as sour grapes.
And our most honest and salient
Judge, will remain Our Conscience.
