Un Educate Me Poem by Energy Mavaza

Un Educate Me

So you taught me to fly
You taught me to buy
Using cash you call money
The exchange we did in trade
You said its old by time it'll fade

You taught me your language
So by you we can engage
On your level of understanding
My taung a savage talk
My stories you called them folk.

You taught me to dress
Title deed my land with address
Giving me a small portion
And you made me to pay
Then made laws for me to obey.

You taught me to teach others
I tried to teach my mothers
But they smiled in ignorance
Saying our sons are teachers
Educated to uneducate our cultures.
