Take Me Back Poem by Energy Mavaza

Take Me Back

Technology save us
Technology take us back
To the uncivilised black world
Where we shone so dark bright
In our melanins delight
With none labeling us savage.

Technology save us
Technology take us back
Teleport us back in time
Where we confide to spirits
In curves inhabit our hope
Ancestors respite.

Technology save us
Technology take us back
Our land was alienated
In malicious conivance
With white skinned folks
Undermining our dark skins.

Technology save us
Technology take us back
Not in captured memories
But in person and in deeds
For the black curse we are
Is your fruits, you technology.
