Lost paradise, lost cities
lost families, lost vivacity;
lost lives, lost children
lost homes, lost unity;
lost yesterday, lost today
lost peace, lost simplicity;
lost soldiers, lost sons
lost dreams, lost hopes;
who will bring this back to its feet
who will gift back the serenity
who will turn back the clock
who will revert the place to paradise?
Pain and distress in their eyes,
anxiety and fear in their hearts
sufferings and trauma in their feet
where will they go and sleep
when their country has been devastated?
But they have not lost courage,
they have not lost optimism
as the same sun still shines over Ukraine
and the same days of joy they will regain
if only peace returns their positivity
if only the war stops its game.
