Tribute To The Moon Poem by Odunayo Jacob

Tribute To The Moon

You look so good tonight
Shining so bright
Your smile is contagious
How can I look away?

You make me feel so good
Deep inside
Your movement hypnotises
Why should I look away?

You stand out among others
they don't stand a chance
Your glow illuminates
Who can look away?

Some nights you don't show
Saddens my soul
The world goes black
Who can replace you?

I hear you talking to me
And I talk back
Your whispers are golden
Who can tell me otherwise?

I celebrate your arrival
Crescent or full
With plenty wine and food
Who can understand?

I talk about you everytime
Even to my friends
When I say you're the best
Who can believe me?

I appreciate you always
For all what you do
During these dark times
Who can rival you?

Sacrifices you make
To make the world better
Your appearance is consistent
Who can do the same?
