This Hand Poem by Lodigiana Poetess

This Hand

Rating: 5.0

It feels so small and fragile
the fingers lithe and long.
Translucent skin like gossamer,
a hand once warm and strong.
A palm now lined with living
and joints that ache and creak.
This hand was always giving
me strength when I was weak.
It lies within my own now,
I cradle it with care,
this hand that used to guide me
here, there and everywhere.

Dedicated to my lovely Mum

Just read your message Lodgiana and thank you. Loved that term of phrase you wrote ' the balm of poetry.' Thank you so much and while I'm in your neighbourhood and keeping to social distancing etiquette I'll bestow another 10 on your superbly crafted poem and a former and deserved POD. Thanks again Lodigiana and stay blessed.

I am so glad you love your mother so dearly. I loved mine and still do though I can no longer hold her hands in mine. Your words brought back so many memories.
