This Is Me
I can love and despise in equal measure,
some things I hate, but most give me pleasure
Some days I look great but inside I feel bad,
a smile on my face will hide all the sad.
My halo shines bright, to dazzle the sinner
that I can become if I am no winner.
My heart on my sleeve, my feelings I'll share
but if you betray me you'll see I don't care.
I'm clumsy and gauche and trip over my feet
but a more gracious person you never will meet
Impatient and hate to be waiting in line
but if you should need me you'll get all my time.
So many things scare me I'm not really brave
but loved ones in trouble I always will save
I'm clever and charming, my heart's made of glass
But if you should hurt me I'll just kick your ass
I'm complex, I'm simple, I'm crazy, I'm sane,
a font of all knowledge, but still a bird brain.
I'm lazy and busy, I'm messy, I'm neat
I'm work that's in progress and not quite complete.
I'm just who I am and some will think strange
but that's all there is and I guess I can't change
