The Sword Poem by Renee Russon

The Sword

Rating: 5.0

A lover's heart trembles in the silence of daybreak
The chain of love forged in passionate declarations
Becomes gently unravelled
Knots untangled with revelations
The lover torn, longing, fate
A sword drawn, glistening gleaming
Strikes a heart.... left...bleeding
With a measured swipe
This love was for you this love was for me
You will decide.. so mote it be
Sword returned to its stance
Now The singer can't sing
The dancer can't dance
Eyes on the horizon aqueous wash midnight blue
Weary head bows down
Defers to the King wearing the Crown
Tis you tis you
