The Dream Poem by Mwihaki Kahiga

The Dream

Rating: 5.0

I light a candle and my heart jolts into a halt,
Memories of your deep look through my eyes too fresh,
Your tight grip around me so warm,
Your presence fills the room,
I can smell your cologne,
I can smell your sweat,
I can feel you breathing,
I frantically turn around,
Hoping to see you smiling at me from across the room,
And there you are, standing tall and handsome,
Your massive arms, all strong,
Your tall build overwhelming,
My legs weaken and i feel the tingle,
I have nothing left to loose,
I want to be overtaken,
I want to loose myself in your shield,
I want to freeze the moment for a lifetime,
And with arms stretched i run towards you,
Overflowing with joy and peace explainable,
Wondering who i was before we met,
Why you feel so familiar,
How comes you fit so well,
And just as the tips of my fingers touch you,
I wake up with jolt again,
To the fact that a dream it was,
A dream so real i can relive every second of it,
A dream so real i am living in it,
A dream i don't want to wake up from.
