The Answer To Love Poem by Vaibhav Simha

The Answer To Love

I wonder what it feels like to be in love
For I have forgotten.
For 'tis been five years and since the break up, I have been lying rotten.
But I could not find but her, any other perfect dove.

Does being in love demand care?
Or, does it require a lot of dare?
In dreams too, this question has come,
And God provided me with an answer for I've restricted my freedom.

The answer read: Love neither is care nor requires dare,
Love is the pride one has for another, with which one provides care,
And love needs no approval for it's in the heart and needs no dare
For it is, after all, a game in which everything is fair.

In love, a person shall have no self-esteem and will dispose of his name
Be it the noblest and grandest, for being in love requires no fame.
In love, there shall be no strives, for it is me, your God, and no one else can decide
For your fate is in my hands, and no true love can elude.

If truly loved, one cannot be happier,
And if truly abided, the bond cannot be stronger.
Love is no commodity, love cannot be taken, love cannot be pretended,
For who has done, the destiny had them overturned: With this, the divine answer ended.

At the break of dawn, the morning chime woke me,
In a wise stance, I started my day, however, I felt my heart free.
I heard a knock on my door, only to find-
The one I have already loved and found.
